Sarah acts for major, mid-tier and junior resource and energy companies in Western Australia. Her clients include companies at all stages of the project lifecycle, from junior explorers undertaking IPOs through to major producing companies managing operational contracts, tenure disputes and divestment processes.
Sarah advises on sale and purchase agreements for exploration and mining projects, farm-in and joint venture agreements, split commodity and mineral rights agreements, royalty deeds, access and compensation deeds and operational contracts including mining services contracts, goods and services agreements and offtake agreements. She provides regulatory advice and due diligence on exploration and mining projects, including tenement solicitor's reports for IPOs. She appears regularly in the Warden's Court of Western Australia for objections to tenement applications, exemption applications, forfeiture proceedings and plaints.
Sarah acted as team member on the Westgold Resources $64.6 million sale of the Mt Henry-Selene Project to Alicanto Minerals (led by David Church), as part of Westgold's ongoing portfolio strategy following its $2.2 billion merger with Karora Resources. Her resources transactions practice spans the full project lifecycle from tenement acquisition and IPO due diligence through to operational contracting and divestment.
Sarah's combined transactional and dispute resolution capability across resources project law is well suited to the Western Australian market, where tenure, native title and Warden's Court issues frequently intersect with commercial transactions.
