Scott acts for multinational corporates, investment and retail banks, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, insurers, major professional services firms and company directors. Scott has acted for clients including Mitsubishi, QBE, Deloitte and numerous global financial institutions across large-scale and cross-border disputes.

Scott’s practice spans complex commercial litigation, class actions, regulatory investigations (including white collar matters), Royal Commissions and inquiries, domestic and international arbitration, and contentious insolvency. He advises on matters involving corporations law, continuous disclosure, directors’ duties, contractual disputes, tort, misleading conduct, fraud, competition and consumer law, and warranty claims. He has extensive experience acting across all Australian jurisdictions and managing large and urgent multi-party proceedings with cross-border dimensions.

Scott has 20 years of domestic and international experience, including training at Magic Circle firm Slaughter and May in London and acting as Counsel at Clifford Chance before joining Thomsons as a Partner in 2022. His class action experience includes defending Deloitte across multiple proceedings arising from the Dick Smith collapse and defending QBE in a securities class action and common fund application in the Federal Court.

Scott brings an international perspective to Australian disputes work that is rare outside the top tier. His practice is genuinely versatile, covering the full spectrum from corporate regulatory defence to financial services class actions, arbitration and contentious insolvency.
