Career

Chuan Thye Tan, SC is a Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. His practice covers a variety commercial, corporate, financial and engineering disputes. A significant number of the disputes involve cross-border issues and matters. Apart from his work as lead counsel, he has acted as tribunal in a significant number of arbitration proceedings both as sole arbitrator and as part of a panel of arbitrators of the SIAC, HKIAC, ICC and KLRAC. He has been involved in restructuring and insolvency matters as a solicitor and is ranked for his work in that field of practice as well.

He has been recognised by leading publications – such as Chambers Asia Pacific/ Global – in the field of dispute resolution work, and is described as “very sharp, quick, and instils confidence in his clients that he will lead them to a favourable outcome”. According to The Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Chuan Thye is “very experienced, calm and balanced, an excellent communicator.”
