Position

Emily is a Partner in Christopher & Lee Ong’s Corporate Practice Group. She focusing on financial regulations and FinTech, whilst providing support on mergers & acquisitions, and corporate & commercial matters.

Career

She advises clients ranging from start-ups, local entities, government bodies, and government-linked companies in Malaysia, to multi-national corporations. Emily’s experience includes advising on stablecoin projects, Malaysia's payment cards framework, token launches in Malaysia, as well as advising on regulations, license applications and regulatory engagement for several e-commerce and merchant acquiring service platforms in Malaysia.

Emily also brings with her legal experience in project delivery as well as legislative drafting and public policy consultation. Some of her notable experiences includes advising international investors in relation to environmental regulations and the enforcement status of international agreements / treaties relating to environmental investment compliance in connection with its proposed acquisition of interests in a Malaysian retail company.

She is listed as a Leading Associate in Fintech and Financial Services Regulatory practice in Asia Pacific Legal 500 2026 and Rising Star in M&A by IFLR100 (2025)
