BTO’s insolvency and restructuring team has expertise across the full spectrum of the insolvency market, including in relation to corporate advisory work on restructuring (generally and in relation to specific projects or deals), corporate and personal insolvency advice (working with financial institutions, large and SME corporates and high-net worth-private individuals), providing high quality technical advice in relation to complex appointments and to insolvency practitioners during their appointment, and in relation to directors’ claims, including directors’ disqualification proceedings.   

The team takes a flexible and innovate approach to pricing and has developed flexible and innovative funding arrangements to allow claims to be pursued which may otherwise not be viable.

Team head Angus Wood has particular experience in in the inter-related fields of property and insolvency disputes, often providing advice to landlords in relation to insolvency recoveries and navigating the challenges presented by CVAs.  His corporate law Partner, Alastair Dunn, has particular experience in corporate restructuring and advising directors and companies in relation to complex boardroom disputes, involving challenges to the existence of companies as a going concern.
