Senior Associate

Cara is a Senior Associate in the Professional Discipline and Clinical Defence team.

Having practised exclusively in this area since qualifying as a solicitor in 2010, Cara is experienced in acting for defence organisations, insurers and individuals.

Cara advises and represents doctors and dentists in fitness to practise proceedings before the General Medical Council and General Dental Council.  She defends medical professionals in clinical negligence claims brought in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, as well as representing individuals in Fatal Accident Inquiries and high profile Public Inquiries.  Alongside the employment law team, Cara advises individuals facing disciplinary action in respect of their NHS or private work.

Cara also has an interest in representing aesthetic practitioners in claims for damages and regulatory referrals, as well as offering advice to insurers and other organisations on regulatory reform in this area.
