Rajat Taimni joined Tuli & Co in 2001 and heads the Firm’s dispute resolution practice. He has 25+ years of experience, and his core practice is litigation and arbitration on disputes involving insurance and reinsurance, investment treaties, sovereign funds, charterparties, sports and media, white collar issues, joint venture disputes, railways, aviation, and defence contracts. Rajat represents Insurers, Reinsurers, and commercial clients with litigious disputes before Indian Courts as well as before international and domestic arbitration tribunals.

Rajat specializes in high profile, high value and complex ad-hoc arbitrations as well as institutional arbitrations arising from LCIA, ICC, SIAC, DIAC, CIETAC, JAMS, ICA, International Cotton Association, American Arbitration Association Rules, UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and International Centre for Dispute Resolution International Arbitration Rules, amongst others where he appears for a number of clients from Private Equity in investment related matters, government and private entities in construction, infrastructure, urban development and bridge and tunnels as well as media rights holders in sports disputes.

His core practice is handling complex commercial disputes before the Supreme Court, High Courts, ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations and other ADR procedures. Rajat is regularly instructed in litigation cases involving contractual disputes, liquidated damages, misrepresentation, insolvency, extension of time, delays, civil recoveries as well as matters involving foreign exchange investigations. Rajat has been consistently ranked in Legal 500 over the last 4 years. The 2024 edition says that “Rajat Taimni is thorough and professional”. The 2026 edition says “Rajat Taimni is an excellent lawyer with an expert's knowledge of the insurance industry and its operations. He brings practical advice and approaches to litigation.” Rajat has also been recognised in Chambers & Partners in 2025 and 2024.

Rajat joined Tuli & Co in 2001 and became a partner in 2003.
