Michael has a particular focus on dispute resolution, development approvals, the regulation and remediation of contaminated land, the removal and handling of hazardous materials and waste. 

Michael has advised all levels of government, including the Commonwealth Government, State Government agencies and Local Councils. Over the last year, Michael's key matters include advising the Commonwealth Department of Environment on the drafting of environmental assessment and approval Bilateral agreements between the Commonwealth and each State and Territory, acting in a major dispute concerning the cost of removing asbestos from an old hospital under a PPP contract, advising Jemena on the remediation of Kendall Bay and the Hamilton Gas Works Site, assisted with the drafting of legislative instruments for the development of major state infrastructure, acted for government bodies in relation to urban renewal projects, advised on climate change related issues, prosecuted environmental offences and acted as an advocate in the Land and Environment Court.
