Asanka has over 40 years of experience in the legal profession. An expert on laws and regulations governing investments in Sri Lanka, she was the Vice President, Legal, of the Vanik Group of companies, at the time the largest fund manager in the country and thereafter the Director Legal at Sri Lanka’s investment facilitator – the Board of Investment. She heads the corporate affairs and the real estate and conveyancing practices of the Firm. Asanka managed most of Nippon Telecom’s entry into Sri Lanka, in the first and only nationalisation of a public utility. She specialises in Banking and Finance, Securitization, Foreign Investment Law, and Real Estate.
