Prior to joining Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, Mr. Wang worked at the Tokyo and Shanghai offices of a major international law firm. In June 2023, he joined Zhonglun W&D Law Firm as a Senior Partner.

Mr. Wang currently serves as a member of the Supervisory Committee of Zhonglun W&D's Shanghai Office, Head of the Cybersecurity and Data Compliance Department, and Deputy Director of the Technology and Intellectual Property Committee of the Zhonglun W&D Group.

Mr. Wang Qi's main practice areas include technology-related legal services such as telecommunications, cybersecurity, data compliance, and autonomous driving, corporate compliance investigations, as well as foreign investment, cross-border M&A, and general corporate legal services.

In the data asset sector, Mr. Wang has assisted clients in achieving landmark results, including the first registrations of data products, financing, and data property rights in multiple jurisdictions. He has provided legal services to numerous renowned Japanese enterprises, and as one of the lead legal advisors, designed the business framework and provided compliance advice for a famous Japanese automaker's autonomous driving project in China. He has delivered one-stop services for data compliance reviews, rectifications, and system establishment for several large international groups. Additionally, he has conducted internal compliance investigations into internal fraud and loss of control issues for multiple large enterprises.

Outside of work, Mr. Wang Qi maintains his physical and mental vitality through fitness, motorsport, and hiking. He also has a passion for studying mathematics and physics, as well as appreciating fine watches, finding beauty in order and the rational aesthetics of logical deduction and precision mechanics.
