Position

Chris is a partner in Stone King's commercial property team, based in our Birmingham office. He specialises in advising education sector clients, and has acted on several hundred Academy conversions, as well as numerous transfers, rebrokerages, Free School projects and general property matters. Chris  joined the firm in 2022, having worked at Browne Jacobson LLP for nearly 18 years.

Career

Chris advises on a very broad range of education sector property matters, including development work involving construction and planning elements, Academy conversions, transfers and rebrokerages, Free School projects, and general site management issues such as acquisitions and disposals (freehold and leasehold), subleases, alterations, nurseries, children's centres and telecomms leases. Such is his reputation that he was headhunted by the Education and Skills Funding Agency for a 12 month secondment, assisting with the delivery of the Free Schools, Studio Schools and UTC programmes.

Chris is a governor of a local primary school.
