Position
Harriet is a partner in the Employment Team specialising in the Education and Charity Sectors. She is able to advise on all areas of employment law, taking a commercial and pragmatic approach to resolving matters.
During her career, Harriet has worked with private individuals and commercial organisations on all contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Her experience prior to joining Stone King enables Harriet to understand differing perspectives to the benefit of her current clients.
Harriet is able to advise on all areas of employment law and has a particular interest in discrimination matters. Harriet is experienced in handling employment tribunal proceedings, from unfair dismissal to complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims.
In the Education Sector, Harriet’s focus is independent schools. Harriet is able to bring her commercial experience and understanding of independent school regulations to fully support schools in handling employment matters. She regularly advises on complex safeguarding matters concerning staff, as well as supporting clients with parental complaints, outsourcing services, and grievance and disciplinary matters. She supports clients with staff consultation. She also works closely with colleagues on merger and acquisition matters. Harriet understands the complexities and challenges facing independent schools and tailors her advice accordingly.
Harriet regularly advises clients in the Charity Sector. She is experienced in advising in complex matters including senior exits, whistleblowing disputes, discrimination and safeguarding matters, and organisational change including TUPE, restructure and redundancy. She regularly works with colleagues in supporting clients dealing with serious incidents. She further supports clients dealing with trade union matters, including both voluntary and statutory recognition. Harriet is adept at balancing Charity Commission guidance and employment law requirements providing clients with clear and pragmatic advice.
Career
Harriet started her career predominantly undertaking claimant tribunal litigation before moving to advising SME employers on all contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Harriet is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Education
Harriet graduated from Bristol University with a degree in English Literature. She completed her GDL and LPC at the University of the West of England.
