Peter is a partner at Stone King LLP and advises in the transport sector with particular experience in Public Inquiry advocacy and employment law. He has been assisting clients since he qualified in 1991, advising on a full range of such matters

Peter has acted for numerous clients over the years including owner-managers as well as multi-nationals.

He is an experienced Employment Tribunal advocate and his work has been case reported as advocate in the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He has acted in hundreds of tribunal cases including unfair dismissal and complex discrimination cases. He has trained and written courses for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Peter is also widely recognised as a leader in the transport sector and regularly assists operators in dealing with regulatory matters. He has acted for bus and coach operators and hauliers in many matters of significance to the industry. He is Chairman of Logistics UK South West Regional Freight Council.

He considers that businesses prefer to act responsibly both as a matter of policy and economics and works with clients to ensure their outcomes in terms of responsible business are delivered.

Peter writes articles and is widely quoted in trade and other publications of matters of interest to his clients and the wider business community. He frequently delivers live training and webinars to clients and to others with an interest in the sectors in which he advises.

Transport: multiple Public Inquiries in the transport sector both in relation to PSV and HGV operation, advising in relation to licensing for new models of vehicle operation, advising in relation to Bus Service Improvement Plans and their effect on local markets. Running webinars, for example to provide practical assistance to operations managers in logistics organisations.

Advising on multiple employment tribunal matters including those with significant potential compensation, advising organisations in relation to senior executive exits, advising on business sales and collective redundancies, advising on statutory union recognition processes, advising on whistleblowing complaints.

Peter was a Partner at a large Bristol firm before becoming a Partner at Stone King LLP in March 2006. He is qualified as a solicitor and barrister and for 10 years was believed to be the only solicitor on the panel of Treasury Counsel.

Peter is a member of Logistics UK and the Confederation of Passenger Transport.

Peter enjoys many sports including cycling, running, swimming and skiing. He also enjoys the challenge of cryptic crosswords as well as medieval history.
