Hemal Shah has over 12 years of experience in M&A and international tax, advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions for Indian and multinational clients. His practice spans mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, inbound and outbound investments, and strategic tax advisory across a range of industries including technology, manufacturing, consumer, logistics, and financial services. He has also been closely involved in coordinating with overseas teams on multi-jurisdictional deals and supporting clients across the transaction lifecycle, including negotiation, documentation, and post-deal integration.
Hemal has extensive experience in advising on transaction structuring, tax due diligence, and cash repatriation strategies. He regularly assists clients in navigating multi-jurisdictional tax considerations, coordinating global diligence exercises, and aligning tax outcomes with commercial objectives. His expertise also includes Permanent Establishment (PE) risk analysis, tax treaty interpretation, and broader corporate tax advisory, including tax controversy and succession planning.
Prior to his current role, Hemal has worked with Economic Laws Practice and Ernst & Young LLP, where he advised on a wide range of cross-border transactions, global restructurings, and complex tax matters across industries.
