Louise has nearly two decades’ experience in employment and industrial law and is a trusted adviser to employers navigating complex workplace challenges. She delivers clear, strategic and commercially focused advice across all stages of the employment life cycle.

Louise has deep expertise in matters arising under the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), from enterprise bargaining and industrial action, to transfer of business, redundancy, interpretation of industrial instruments and termination-related litigation. She regularly appears in the Fair Work Commission and the Federal Court in relation to these issues and has secured successful outcomes for clients in a number of important cases,

Furthermore, Louise’s understanding of the Fair Work Act is both technical and tactical. She advises employers on compliance with national workplace laws, managing litigation risk and developing proactive strategies to prevent disputes.

In addition to national workplace laws, Louise has significant experience advising on the Industrial Relations Act 2016 (Qld) and public sector employment legislation in Queensland, particularly in the health sector.

Louise also has a strong interest in assisting employers with workers’ compensation claims. This includes making submissions to WorkCover Queensland around the acceptance or rejection of a claim and managing associated work health and safety risks. She has particular expertise in defending claims for psychological injuries arising out of reasonable management action and has achieved success for employers in this area.
