Ben provides straightforward and practical guidance to businesses across all aspects of labour and employment law, helping clients understand the issues they face and achieve their commercial objectives while building strong, collaborative relationships.

He has particular expertise in workplace strategy, including change management, restructuring, enterprise bargaining and responding to industrial action, as well as defending against employee and union claims, drafting and enforcing post-employment restraints, resolving sham contracting investigations and prosecutions and managing complex or high stakes workplace issues for businesses.

Ben also advises on regulatory matters, including managing investigations and dealings with the Fair Work Ombudsman, the Office of the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner and WorkSafe, and regularly assists with general employment law matters, including drafting and negotiating contracts, managing ill and injured employees, and terminations, as well as bullying and discrimination matters.

Ben's clients range from private business owners to multinational and listed companies and government bodies. He has significant experience in highly unionised industries, including construction, resources, manufacturing, transport, health and education, and also acts for clients across professional services, hospitality, retail and other sectors.
