Position
Senior Solicitor at Major Family Law
Moji is an experienced family lawyer with a calm and thorough approach. She invests both in her clients’ cases and in their well-being.
Moji advises on all aspects of family law with a particular affinity for divorce and financial remedy settlements. Her clients have included the wives of various sports professionals, wealthy business owners and wealthy farming clients. She is, however, committed to representing all those who need assistance, be it in the North East, North West or further afield.
Expertise
Moji studied Law at the University of Manchester and fell in love with what is fast becoming the second city. After this, she undertook her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law achieving distinction. More recently, she taught students on the same course as a Visiting Lecturer.
Before undertaking her training contract at a top tier multi-service law firm with Manchester and London offices, Moji worked in fund accounting for the world’s largest custodian bank and also in dividends administration for one of the UK’s leading wealth managers. Her experience in the financial sector has made her well equipped to deal with the financial aspects of divorce.
Moji qualified into a tier 1 Legal 500 family law firm in Newcastle where she dealt predominantly with matrimonial finances. She returned to Manchester to help spearhead the entry of a tier 1 Legal 500 family law firm into the Manchester market before joining Major Family Law in 2017.
Whilst part of the Major Family Law team, Moji took part in a lawyer’s focus group run by the Pension Advisory Group (an interdisciplinary working group chaired by Mr Justice Francis and His Honour Judge Edward Hess; supported by the Family Justice Council and the President of the Family Division). PAG aimed to improve the practice of pensions on divorce and published their detailed guidance on pensions on divorce in July 2019.
Clients and Counsel have praised Moji’s patience, diligence and professionalism.
Passionate about the well-being of little humans, Moji has volunteered with children and young people since early adulthood. A passion that led her to securing her Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and helping Year 6 pupils through a difficult developmental and academic stage and representing the local authority in care proceedings. Understanding the impact of marital breakdown on children of the family, Moji keeps children’s best interests at the forefront of her mind when advising clients. Moji also serves as a local authority governor on the board of a Church of England school.
Leisure
Moji was a keen netballer, playing competitively for over 13 years in the Northern League, North West Championship and Regional Premiership Leagues. Having hung-up her dress, Moji now focuses on low-impact ways to keep fit alongside spending precious time with her young family.
