Position

Mark provides guidance on a wide range of areas, including strategic procurement contracts, product design and manufacturing, logistics and reverse logistics, clinical trials, and market entry strategies.

He works with digital platforms, global brands, retailers, and innovative startups on international supply chain contracts, with a recent emphasis on sustainability and regulation. Mark helps clients enter new markets and develop new products and strategies.

The Legal 500 have consistently listed him as Band 1 for Commercial Contracts and since 2023 he has been in its Hall of Fame.

Mark has a wealth of experience having previously served on the International Strategic Advisory Board for Consumer, Goods, Food and Retail sector at his previous firm. He was a founding member and global co-chair of its Tier 1 Consumer sub-sector, and a key figure in establishing its London practice in Band 1 of the Legal 500 since 2017.

For over 2 decades, he has worked on the documentation and negotiation of international commercial supply chains. He has also played a significant role in analysing and developing consumer product regulations in the UK, the EU (until 2017), and internationally.

He contributes monthly to PLC's Commercial Law Bulletin. He is a frequent speaker on commercial contracts, supply chain, consumer product regulation, consumer law and increasingly on SESG.

Mark was a member of the Board of US based International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organizaton, one of the world's leading consumer product safety organisations and its President 2011-2012.

He is a founder member of the UK's Smart Home Technology Group, co-wrote its guide on Smart Home Tech for consumers and on the applicability of the UK's Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act to their products, a member of the City of London Lawyers Law Society Commercial Law Committee and was its representative to the EU commission working party on the Common Acquis, an attempt to codify online EU consumer contract law until Brexit attended meetings with DG Juris on reviewing the effectiveness of the EU's RAPEX product recall system.
