A corporate and commercial specialist recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2018 to 2025, Tom leads the firm's Auckland office and acts on complex local and cross-border transactions for businesses and high net worth families. Since joining Tompkins Wake in 2012, he has built a deal record defined by transactions in which international counterparties, deal value, and execution risk demand precision: acquisitions and exits involving NYSE-, ASX-, and LSE-listed acquirers, first-of-kind cross-border investments, and multinational platform integrations.

Grant Thornton New Zealand on its integration into the Grant Thornton Advisors global platform, a cross-border transaction of significant scale and regulatory complexity, working opposite Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and MinterEllisonRuddWatts. KCL Property, then New Zealand's largest property syndicator with $850m of property under management, on the sale of the business to listed fund manager Augusta Capital. FleetCor Technologies Inc. (NYSE) on the New Zealand aspects of its US$3.45 billion refinancing and acquisition of Comdata Inc., and separately on its acquisition of Cardlink Group. The owners of Apex Valves on the sale of a majority shareholding to NYSE-listed Watts Water Technologies. Israeli biotech company Algatech on its investment in New Zealand health supplement manufacturer Supreme Health, believed to be the first biotech deal between New Zealand and Israel. A private investment company on the acquisition of The Ultimate Care Group, a nationwide residential aged care provider, from ANZ Capital. ASX-listed Skydive The Beach Group on its acquisition of Skydive Queenstown and Skydive Wanaka. Coeur Mining Inc. on its acquisition of Todd Corporation's joint venture interest in the Golden Cross gold mine.
