David  Catanese

David Catanese

David is a Partner in the Hall & Wilcox Employment and Workplace Relations team predominately based in Melbourne. He is an expert in employment law in both private sector and Government contexts. David acts for large, medium and small enterprises, the Commonwealth and State Governments, high net worth individuals and pro bono clients.  He operates in all relevant jurisdictions regarding employment, industrial relations, anti-discrimination and occupational health and safety matters, and regularly conducts litigation in the Fair Work Commission, Federal and State Courts, VCAT and before other professional tribunals and boards. David routinely advises clients on employee complaints and grievances, workplace investigations, governance issues, restructures, policy development and training (including anti-discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying policies) and Executive employment matters. David has a wealth of both private and public sector legal experience, having worked in private sector law firms, as a lawyer for the Commonwealth and as Managing Principal Solicitor for a State Government. David understands commercial imperatives as well as the unique statutory and policy environment relevant to Government clients. David has a practical and goal-oriented approach to both providing front-end advice and the conduct of litigation. He focuses on understanding his clients’ interests and taking a strategic approach to achieve them
Mark Dunphy

Mark Dunphy

Mark is a Partner in the Employment and Workplace Relations team at Hall & Wilcox. With close to 30 years' experience, Mark's practice encompasses both litigious and non-litigious applications of employment and industrial relations law. Mark is skilled in dealing with matters involving industrial disputes, industrial strategy, employee discipline, unfair dismissals, adverse action claims, common law disputes, equal opportunity and discrimination and sexual harassment claims. He provides advice on the effect of legislative change on businesses, award interpretation and ramifications and industrial disputes and their implications. He has expertise in drafting and advising on enterprise agreements, providing advice and acting in litigious matters regarding terminations, drafting and advising on employment contracts and employment audits, and employment related areas of due diligence.
Kristopher  Kunasingam

Kristopher Kunasingam

Kristopher leads the migration practice at Hall & Wilcox. He advises on all aspects of migration to Australia, with particular emphasis on employment-related migration. He has advised a wide range of clients, including large public and international companies, as well as small-to-medium enterprises. Kristopher also has experience in assisting individuals with their migration matters, including skilled, business, investor, high net worth individuals and family visa applicants. He is also involved in tribunal and court matters appealing visa and citizenship refusals. Businesses have engaged Kristopher to perform and prepare audit reports on their visa workforce, develop strategies to meet migration regulatory requirements and provide ad-hoc advice on all visa matters.

He is an experienced litigator and a skilled negotiator, and provides clear, strategic, and cost-effective advice. With over 25 years of experience, Karl advises clients across a broad range of employment and industrial issues. He is highly experienced in providing advice on negotiating and implementing enterprise agreements, defending unfair dismissal claims, discrimination claims, and contractual disputes.
