Career
Youwei Guan is a Managing Partner at East & Concord Partners. He focuses on complex financial disputes, high-value commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as real estate and construction disputes.
Over the past decade, he has represented a wide range of clients, including financial institutions, trust companies, banks, asset management companies, listed companies, state-owned enterprises, and large private conglomerates, in high-stakes and structurally complex matters. His core experience covers disputes arising from non-standard financing and lending arrangements, trust and asset management products, bonds, financing leases, and construction contracts, including numerous cases with claims exceeding RMB 100 million.
In addition to litigation and arbitration, he advises clients on distressed asset disposal, government financing matters, M&A risk management, and data compliance.
Before joining East & Concord Partners in 2024, he was a partner at a leading law firm in Southwest China. He currently serves as an arbitrator for several arbitration commissions, including Zigong, Beihai, and Qinzhou, and is a member of the Law Firm Management and Development Committee of the Sichuan Lawyers Association.
His paper On the Necessity of Establishing the Action for ‘No Effective Resolution’ (2017) received the Third Prize awarded by the Company Law Committee of the All China Lawyers Association and the First Prize awarded by the Company Law Committee of the Sichuan Lawyers Association.
