Mr. Tong started his practice in the New York headquarters of Brown & Wood LLP (currently, Sidley Austin LLP) where he represented North American and PRC clients in a number of debt and equity financing, venture capital investment and other corporate transactions. Mr. Tong joined the Hong Kong office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in mid-2000. At Skadden, his practice focused on international securities, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investment and general corporate practice.

Mr. Tong’s practice focuses on assisting buyers and sellers in onshore and cross-border merger and acquisition and investment transactions, and advising State-owned enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises, foreign entities and private entities on corporate and other matters in China and abroad. He assisted and is assisting a number of Chinese companies in investment, joint venture, licensing and other transactions abroad. Mr. Tong has extensive experience in energy, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, financial, healthcare, biotech, food and forestry industries.
