Michelle Bowyer is a Partner in Stowe Family Law’s South Coast and South West region. She has more than 25 years’ experience in family law, having begun her career as a trainee legal executive in 1996. She qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2001 and as a solicitor in 2005.

Michelle advises on divorce and financial remedy proceedings, private children law matters, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and deeds of separation.

Before joining Stowe, Michelle worked within established family law teams in the Cotswolds and Wiltshire. She was promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2019 and became Head of Family in 2024.

Michelle is a member of Resolution and has been a Resolution Accredited Specialist in advanced financial provision and private children law since 2010.

Michelle graduated from Solent University with a degree in Business and Law in 1995. She subsequently completed the Institute of Legal Executives examinations while working full-time before undertaking further legal study at the Guildford School of Law.

Michelle is passionate about animal welfare and serves as a trustee of the North Wiltshire and Newbury branch of the RSPCA. Outside work, she enjoys boxing, drumming, walking her dog and spending time with her husband and daughter.
