Career
Ciara Pugh is a Partner working across Stowe Family Law’s London and East of England regions. She qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and joined Stowe’s London office in early 2021. She was promoted to Associate in 2022, Senior Associate in 2023 and Partner in 2026.
Ciara advises on all aspects of private family law, specialising in complex financial remedy proceedings, arrangements for children and financial provision for unmarried parents and cohabitants. Her work regularly involves high-value assets, non-matrimonial property, business valuations, tax considerations and competing international jurisdictions, including Portugal and Monaco.
She has significant experience in international children relocation cases, representing parents seeking or opposing permission to relocate to countries including Mauritius, Sweden, Norway and France. She has also obtained emergency orders preventing children from being taken abroad without the other parent’s knowledge or consent.
Ciara advises professionals and homemakers alike, providing clear, pragmatic and strategic advice. She is equally experienced in constructive dispute resolution and representing clients in the Family Court when litigation is necessary.
Her notable cases include K v Y [2023] EWFC 262 (B).
Ciara is also recommended by Legal 500 for her efficiency, realistic advice and commitment to understanding the full context of her clients’ cases.

Education
Ciara graduated from Northumbria University in 2016 with first-class honours and a master’s degree in Law.
Leisure
Outside work, Ciara enjoys chess, history and travel. She was formerly a national chess champion and twice won the Queen’s University Ladies Championship. She is also an avid dog lover.
