Career

Nicky joined Stowe Family Law as a Partner in September 2021 and was promoted to Team Leader Partner in December 2022, overseeing the firm’s family law teams across Newcastle, North Shields, and Middlesbrough.

With extensive experience in all aspects of family law, Nicky specialises in assisting clients, both married and unmarried, to resolve issues arising from separation and divorce, particularly concerning financial arrangements and living arrangements for children. She is regularly instructed in financial cases involving complex issues such as high asset values, business interests, trust interests, and pension sharing.

Nicky is a member of Resolution and is qualified as a Collaborative lawyer. Her affiliation with Resolution reflects her commitment to resolving family disputes in a constructive and non-confrontational manner.

Education

Nicky studied Modern History at University College, Oxford, before completing her legal education with a post-graduate CPE law conversion course and LPC at Northumbria University. She began her career as a family law paralegal in 1998 and qualified as a solicitor in June 2001. She has specialised in family law throughout her 20 years of practice in the North East of England.

Leisure

Outside of work, Nicky enjoys spending time with her teenage children and is actively involved in grassroots youth football as a parent and local club welfare officer. She also likes walking in her native Northumberland, singing in a choir, and gardening.
