Position
Emma regularly advises and represents individuals in relation to the most high profile financial crime investigations and prosecutions. She advises individuals facing allegations of serious fraud, corruption, money laundering and all other areas of business crime having acted in a number of international cases brought by the SFO, NCA and HMRC. Emma has liaised extensively with prosecutors and investigators in many other jurisdictions and conducted litigation overseas. She acts for a suspect in the Metropolitan police investigation into the Horizon post office scandal and for the former CEO of Entain plc in the prosecution of senior executives for bribery and fraud. Emma is also known for her skill and expertise in regulatory work, in particular representation of solicitors who face criminal allegations and regulatory proceedings instigated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Career
Qualified in 2001. Assistant solicitor at EBR Attridge before joining niche business crime firm, Richard Nelson LLP, in 2007. Emma joined Byrne and Partners in 2014 and is a partner since 2017. The firm merged to become PCB Byrne in 2021.
