Partner

Andrew is a long standing Partner in the Family department. He has specialised in family law since 1997. Originally employed as a non-practising barrister, he qualified as a solicitor in July 2001 becoming a partner in June 2012. He takes an early and pragmatic views where possible, understanding both the financial, legal and emotional impact of separation. He is described in the Legal 500 as a “master tactician”. Andrew’s caseload focuses on financial disputes with an asset base generally between £1,000,000 – £100,000,000. Andrew tends to focus on the more complex areas of financial disputes, such as those with issues related to confiscation, bankruptcy, trusts, non-disclosure or international issues. His clients include CEOs, public figures and foreign nationals as well as professionals and their spouses. Andrew is also very experienced in advising non-married clients and property owners in respect of their property rights and interests and has represented his clients in many successful negotiations and hearings regarding their interest in property. He has a detailed knowledge of and extensive experience in the appropriate drafting of pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements as well as in relation to the impact that these agreements have in the event of a divorce. Andrew also regularly advises and assists his clients in relation to disputes regarding the care of children and has decades of experience in resolving these disputes either through the Court process or, where possible, by agreement. Andrew is a Resolution trained mediator and undertakes family mediation in relation to the implications on finances and on children following separation.

He is a member of Lincoln’s Inn and active member of Resolution where he regularly drafts good practice guides and guidance notes for the benefit of the profession, as well as a chapter of the Resolution Family Law Handbook.
