Smruti is a Senior Associate in the Immigration team at Bates Wells. As a UK immigration and nationality law specialist with over 16 years' experience, she advises corporate and private clients through the complexities of business and personal immigration.

Smruti has significant experience in delivering strategic solutions-focused advice to employers on sponsor licence applications and employer compliance support, with her corporate portfolio spanning from agile startups to global household names across finance, scientific research, technology, purpose-driven charities and non-profits, and the creative industries.

She regularly advises on sponsored as well as self-sponsored routes and provides an end-to-end service to ensure each individual feels supported throughout the process. As the immigration landscape is ever-changing, having an in-depth understanding of the multitude of immigration routes and how they interplay, allows Smruti to provide strategic advice that considers business drivers as well as personal needs of the individual.

Beyond client work, Smruti is a seasoned presenter and trainer - regularly delivering sessions to high-profile companies on sponsorship, and compliance.  She also provides professional development training for fellow immigration law practitioners, helping to raise the bar across the industry.
