Career

Jorge Bofill Genzsch is widely recognised as one of Chile’s leading litigators and legal strategists. He has represented clients before Chilean courts at all levels, as well as before international tribunals and arbitration centres, including the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

His career combines high-end criminal and civil litigation, strategic advice in complex non-judicialised disputes and the leadership of internal corporate investigations mandated by boards of directors or shareholders of publicly held companies.

He has played an active role in significant legislative processes, including the Criminal Procedure Reform and Law No. 20,393 on the Criminal Liability of Legal Entities. On two occasions, he was appointed as a member of the Presidential Commission tasked with drafting a new Criminal Code.

Jorge Bofill Genzsch has consistently received the highest recognition from leading international legal directories. He was also appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations as a member of the committee responsible for reviewing the internal justice system of the United Nations.

He holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso and a PhD in Law from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. He is a founding member of Libertades Públicas A.G.
