Lawrence – Boutique Law Firm for Data (Protection), AI & Tech
The world is moving fast: driven by AI, digital transformation and the urgent need for security, sustainability and trust. At Lawrence, we help innovative clients navigate these transitions with clarity and courage. From the AI Act and Data Act to DORA, NIS2, DSA and GDPR, we turn complex EU regulation into direction, opportunity and progress.
Our mission is simple but bold: to make regulation accelerate innovation rather than slow it down. We combine deep legal expertise with creativity and a human touch, building long-term relationships based on trust, transparency and collaboration.
We design scalable propositions, develop our own AI tools and deliver fast-track implementations and Legal Data Due Diligence processes that bring speed, precision and purpose to every project. Lawrence is where knowledge, courage and humanity come together to build the future of law.
Career
Frederick (1983) was admitted to the bar in 2008 and has over seventeen years of experience as a lawyer at the intersection of privacy law, data protection, technology law, and AI regulation. He is known for an approach that combines legal precision with a keen sense of how products and companies actually function; a combination he built through a career in both top-tier law firms and leading technology companies.
Education and Work Experience Frederick studied IT Law at the University of Groningen (master's in 2008). At Taylor Wessing (now: Winston Taylor) in Eindhoven and Amsterdam, he laid the foundation for the tech & data practice, becoming a familiar face within privacy and technology law.
In 2020, he transitioned to the corporate world as an in-house lawyer at leading technology companies. For instance, as Associate General Counsel Data Protection at Meta, he worked on complex privacy issues surrounding Instagram, focusing, among other things, on the online protection of young users. After founding his tech boutique Feyr Law in 2025, he continued this practice in July 2026 as a partner at Lawrence.
Expertise Frederick believes that privacy and technology law do not have to slow down innovation. Too often, this happens due to risk aversion, legal over-engineering, or theoretical advice. His approach is different: clear, pragmatic, and focused on progress.
His strength lies in a background few lawyers share: a unique combination of BigLaw, Big Tech, and boutique. Because he has helped build large-scale tech products from the inside, he understands the interests at the intersection of legal, product, and business like no other.
