Idil leads Hawthorn’s Litigation and Crisis practice. A strategic communications specialist with over 25 years’ experience in London and Washington, she advises clients in high-stakes and contested situations — helping them protect reputation, secure business interests, and maintain credibility under pressure.

Having spent half her career in frontline politics in Washington and Westminster, she brings a campaign-based approach to litigation and dispute communications, integrating strategy, media engagement, and stakeholder management across multiple jurisdictions.

Idil has worked on some of the biggest and most high-profile cases before the High Court and founded the litigation communications practice at another UK agency.

In Washington she worked in consultancy as well as a Press Secretary to a Member of the US Congress. Idil has been involved in British politics for over 15 years, and served in Government as  Special Adviser to Lord Chancellor David Gauke.
