Tony Bisconti is a partner at Bienert Katzman Littrell Williams LLP. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Maureen A. Tighe of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California before joining the firm.

Tony is an experienced trial attorney whose practice focuses on bankruptcy, complex civil and insolvency litigation, investigations, and white-collar criminal matters. He has represented clients including Fortune 500 companies, the FDIC, high-profile celebrities and professional athletes, technology start-ups, and high net-worth individuals in matters involving the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, and other federal, state, and local agencies. Tony maintains an extensive appellate practice, having briefed and argued cases before state and federal courts of appeal, including serving as counsel before the United States Supreme Court.

His reputation earned him recognition by Best Lawyers® as 2023 "Lawyer of the Year" for Litigation – Bankruptcy in Orange County, and he has been selected to the Southern California Super Lawyers® list every year since 2019.

Representative matters:

Represented the liquidating trustee in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding pursuing fraudulent transfer and preference claims exceeding $50 million, securing a $219+ million judgment following a successful motion for summary judgment.

Obtained approximately $100,000 in sanctions and a $200+ million judgment for a liquidating trustee based on fraudulent transfer claims arising out of a failed luxury resort development (Yellowstone Club). Also secured dismissal of a counterclaim alleging $6 billion in damages.

Represented a law firm defending against a civil investigative demand by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, serving as lead counsel at the trial court and Ninth Circuit levels, and as part of the appellate team that prevailed before the U.S. Supreme Court (holding the CFPB's structure unconstitutional).

Represented a high-profile athlete in two civil cases; obtained a complete defense verdict after a three-day jury trial on assault and battery claims by a paparazzo, and a walkaway settlement in a separate assault and battery matter.

Obtained dismissal of civil contempt proceedings seeking a sanction against his client in excess of $40 million, in a case that had been litigated for approximately 20 years and resulted in two decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Represented the creditors' committee and liquidating trustee of a bankrupt hospital, successfully objecting to or reducing claims against the estate by approximately $16 million, resulting in substantially higher distributions to creditors.

Represented principals and insiders of a Chapter 11 debtor, obtaining dismissal of an adversary action seeking more than $10 million in damages with zero recovery to the plaintiff.

Represented the FDIC in a case arising from the American Sterling Bank receivership, defeating appeals and securing approval of a $10 million settlement in favor of the FDIC-Receiver.

Represented a businessman and film financier in involuntary bankruptcy cases against five of his companies; after more than five years of litigation, obtained outright dismissal of all five cases.

Represented victims of a major real estate investment scheme, obtaining a judgment against multiple parties, including the principals of the investment outfit, totaling more than $3 million.
