Career

Jennifer M. Cohen is a partner at Harrison LLP. She was previously a partner at Kalcheim Haber, LLC which merged with Harrison LLP in 2025. Jennifer had started her career as a law clerk at Kalcheim Haber, LLC, for the founding partner, Michael A. Haber, in 2004. Jennifer emphasizes her practice in the area of family law, including pre and post-nuptial agreements, dissolution of marriage cases, allocation of parental responsibilities and parenting time, adoption proceedings and appeals.  In addition to her concentration in family law matters, Ms. Cohen also represents individuals and business entities in real estate transactions, probate and estate transactions, corporate and other business transactions and civil litigation. Her well-rounded practice allows her the ability to offer her clients the highest level of versatility and professionalism.  Though an experienced and skilled litigator, she can develop innovative solutions to amicably settle cases outside of the courtroom.   

Ms. Cohen is a certified mediator and court-appointed child representative, guardian ad litem and parent coordinator.  She has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers and Emerging Lawyers list by Leading Lawyers. 

Ms. Cohen received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, her Juris Doctorate from The University of Illinois Chicago School of Law formerly known as The John Marshall Law School and a Certificate in Fundamentals of Accounting through Northwestern University. Ms. Cohen lives in the Chicagoland suburbs with her husband and son.  She is a member of the Illinois State Bar and Lake County Bar Associations.  She is currently a board member for the Illinois Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC).
