He holds a Law degree from the Central University of Las Villas (Santa Clara, Cuba, 1993), recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture. He earned a diploma in Real Estate and Urban Planning Law (Pompeu Fabra University, 1995).
He completed doctoral coursework in Public Law at Pompeu Fabra University (1994–1996) and presented his dissertation The Legal Regime of Land in Cuba in 1996.
