In the past, Jakub worked at the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB), where he gained valuable experience in the field of IT law, and was also a member of research projects including the Center of Excellence for Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and Protection of Critical Information Infrastructures. Jakub often lectures and publishes, in addition to professional forums, he spoke at TEDx Talk Masaryk University. In 2020, together with the team from PwC, he published a Practical Commentary on the Act on the Processing of Personal Data, and in 2022, he also published his own monograph entitled Handbook of Legal Regulation of the Cloud.

Jakub has worked in leading Czech law firms, specializing in IT law, personal data protection regulation and cybersecurity. He has also worked on GDPR implementations for clients from large international companies and a number of smaller businesses, including the role of Data Protection Officer.

Since 2025, he has been an attorney at the law firm Chrenek, Toman, Kotrba, and is currently a member of the IT and cyber security team.
