Furkan Çakmak advises clients across a broad spectrum of practice areas, including banking and finance, litigation and arbitration, information technology law, electronic money and payment services, competition law, and compliance and risk management. He has been involved in numerous domestic and cross-border financing transactions, loan and leasing arrangements, corporate and project finance structures, structured finance models, and capital markets matters, providing clients with comprehensive support in the drafting, negotiation and restructuring of complex financial documentation. Furkan also represents clients in commercial disputes before national courts and international arbitral institutions, with experience in the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and the strategic resolution of conflicts through negotiation where appropriate. His technology law practice focuses on software and licensing agreements, intellectual property management, e-commerce compliance, content liability, domain name disputes, and digital business models. In the fintech sector, he assists payment institutions and e-money issuers with regulatory compliance under Law No. 6493, including licence application preparation, risk assessments, internal systems compliance and ongoing regulatory interactions. Furkan’s competition law work covers investigations, on-site inspections, merger control filings, dominance assessments, compliance programmes and training. Additionally, he develops comprehensive compliance frameworks for clients in the areas of ethics, data protection, sanctions and export controls, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, supporting companies in establishing robust governance and risk management structures aligned with international standards.
