Career

Chantelle Biersay is an Associate Attorney in the Transactional Practice at Ramsay & Partners, where she has practised since January 2020. She advises on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including real estate law and conveyancing, corporate transactions, capital markets (project financing and acquisitions), estate planning and the administration of estates. Chantelle has supported both local and international clients — including individuals, corporate entities and financial institutions — and has acted both as assisting counsel and as lead counsel in successful settlements and litigation in the Supreme Court of Jamaica, particularly in real estate, estate administration and debt recovery matters. She is recognised in the Legal 500 Caribbean as a Leading Associate, cited as a key member of the firm’s practice alongside senior colleagues.

In addition to being licensed to practice in Jamaica, Chantelle is called to the New York Bar.

Chantelle is also a member of the Jamaica Bar Association and actively contributes to the firm’s transactional and litigation work.

Education

Chantelle earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of the West Indies, where she also graduated with first-class honours in the Bachelor of Laws programme. She subsequently completed her professional legal training at the Norman Manley Law School, obtaining her Legal Education Certificate. During her academic career, she received multiple scholarships and served as a Research Assistant at the University of the West Indies Faculty of Law.
