The Mining Department
ALN – Mining Law Firm's Mining Department has more than 20 years of experience providing multidisciplinary legal services exclusively focused on the mining industry. It was established with the purpose of addressing all the legal needs of clients across the sector.
The department advises on a wide range of matters, including Environmental Law, Amparos, Compliance, Contracts, Corporate Law, Mergers, Acquisitions, Tax Law, Land Tenure and Communities, Labor Law, Litigation, Immigration Law, Intellectual Property, ESG Practices, Social Licensing, Mediation and Resolution of Social Conflicts. In line with its commitment to the mining industry and its clients, the department is an active member of leading legal and mining organizations worldwide, including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico (CANCHAM), the Foundation for Natural Resources and Energy Law (formerly Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation), the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME), CLUMIN – Cluster Minero de Chihuahua -, Cluster Minero de Durango., and the Asociación de Ingenieros de Minas, Metalurgistas y Geólogos de México, A.C.

1. Mining law compliance and reform exemption: Legal advice on mining law reforms and exemptions from new regulations to ensure the continuity of mining projects.

3. Mining concession management and registration: Advisory on the registration and regularization of legal acts related to mining concessions, ensuring compliance with Mexican authorities and protecting mining assets.
4. Debt restructuring and financial negotiation: Legal advisory on debt restructuring, negotiation with financial entities, and implementing suitable payment plans to avoid sanctions and ensure the financial viability of projects.
5. Asset protection and risk management: Implementation of legal strategies to protect key assets, such as mining concessions, and surface land, and minimizing risks associated with potential seizures or legal disputes.
6. Legal due diligence and transaction structuring: Advisory on the acquisition of mining projects and the transfer of rights, including transaction structuring, due diligence, and negotiation of key terms.
7. Debt rights recognition and transfer: Legal advisory on the recognition and transfer of debt rights, including structuring agreements to transfer credit rights within a corporate group.
8. Litigation and dispute resolution: Resolution of conflicts through litigation or administrative proceedings before Mexican authorities, always seeking the best outcome for the client.
