Position

Sophie Capo-Bianco is a Partner at Expatriate Law in London, advising clients on complex international family law matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Sophie has a strong track record in high-stakes private children proceedings - including wardship cases involving serious welfare concerns - contested financial remedy proceedings requiring urgent applications, complex disclosure strategies, and the use of Hemain injunctions and freezing orders. She also advises on Schedule 1 financial provision for children of unmarried HNW families and international prenuptial agreements.

Career

Sophie qualified as a solicitor in 2013 at Goodman Ray, developing a strong foundation in complex children matters. She joined Expatriate Law in 2014, initially advising expatriates across the UAE, before joining the London team in 2017.

Her reported case, AR v BR [2023] EWFC 76, concerned the interaction between the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 and the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973.
