Family

Lauren Carmichael is a Partner at Expatriate Law with a distinctive specialism in matters involving England, South Africa and the UAE, having lived and practised in London, Johannesburg and Dubai. She advises HNW clients on multi-jurisdictional prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, jurisdiction strategy and forum disputes, complex financial remedy proceedings, Schedule 1 and Part III applications, and international children matters including relocation and abduction.

Lauren qualified as a solicitor in 2008. She began her career as a corporate lawyer before moving into family law at Camilla Baldwin in London, and subsequently at Clarks Attorneys in Johannesburg, where she advised on complex financial structures and cross-border children disputes involving South Africa and England. She later joined Expatriate Law’s UAE team before relocating to the London office.

Lauren co-founded the Johannesburg Family Law Conference and has spoken at conferences in Johannesburg and Cape Town on cross-border prenuptial agreements, UAE family law and expatriate family law issues.
