Construction and public procurement

Mike specialises in construction law and procurement law. He focuses on guiding complex procurement and purchasing procedures, including within the social domain and the ICT sector. In the field of construction law, Mike advises on procurement strategy, contracting strategy and the execution of various types of construction contracts. In particular, Mike has experience with portfolio-based approaches and serial procurement.

In addition, Mike regularly litigates in interim relief proceedings concerning procurement disputes, in which he strategically represents both (semi-)public contracting authorities and tenderers, for example in cases involving objections to the structure of the procurement procedure or intended award decisions. He also represents clients in litigation and arbitration concerning construction disputes before the civil courts and the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry.

Mike shares his knowledge by regularly publishing on construction and procurement law in journals and professional publications.

Prior to joining Duet advocaten in 2024, Mike was a lawyer in construction and procurement law at Croon advocaten (2019-2023) and at Croon Huith advocaten (2024).
