Assem Al Hawy is the Founding Partner and Head of the Corporate Department at Shield Advocates – Al Hawy & Hassane. With over 20 years of experience, he is widely recognized for his deep expertise in corporate law, capital markets, labor law, Mergers and Acquisitions, structuring and restructuring and regulatory compliance.

Assem advises both domestic and international clients on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, with particular expertise in group structuring and restructuring, company formations, and the establishment of offshore and free zone entities. He provides comprehensive support on clients’ day-to-day operational legal requirements, ensuring businesses remain compliant while advancing their strategic objectives.

His practice covers commercial contract negotiation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance, where he has acted for clients across a wide range of sectors, including real estate, property management, pharmaceuticals, and media. Assem is regularly engaged in legal due diligence exercises on high-value transactions, assessing entities such as investment banks, brokerage firms, and holding companies, and advising on the legal risks and structuring considerations underpinning complex investments.
