Emad Helmy is an Associate at Shield Advocates with extensive practical experience in intellectual property prosecution, enforcement, and administrative proceedings in Egypt. He is actively involved in handling a wide range of trademark and patent matters, supporting both local and international clients in protecting and maintaining their intellectual property portfolios.

Emad plays a significant role in managing on-ground prosecution work before the Egyptian Trademark Office and other relevant authorities, including filing procedures, renewals, recordals, office actions, oppositions, and administrative follow-up. He works closely with clients on day-to-day portfolio management matters, providing practical support and ensuring efficient handling of procedural requirements and deadlines.

In addition to his prosecution work, Emad regularly assists with intellectual property enforcement matters, including coordinating enforcement actions, supporting anti-counterfeiting measures, preparing enforcement documentation, and following up on infringement-related procedures before the competent authorities. He also attends hearing sessions and administrative proceedings, contributing to the effective handling of contentious IP matters.

Known for his strong practical knowledge of local procedures, responsiveness, and hands-on approach, Emad is a valuable member of the firm’s intellectual property team, particularly in matters requiring close coordination with governmental authorities and efficient procedural execution.
