Career

Advocate Nabin Bhandari, is the Founding and the Managing Partner of the Bhandari Law. He is one of the leading corporate lawyers in Nepal who have extensive experience on the matter of corporate law and dispute resolutions.

Nabin completed his Master on International Business Law from University of Brussels, Belgium and also has experience of completion of short-term legal courses from Switzerland and UK based university. Nabin specialized on arbitration, cross border transactions, project finance, hydropower project development and foreign direct investment. He has advised and represented number of national and international clients including the multinational companies, international institutions, banks and financial institutions, major corporate houses of Nepal, diplomatic missions, INGOs and government bodies and has also worked as the local counsel to international law firms.

Further he has also worked in number of legal and regulatory reform projects in coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Government of Nepal.

His recent experience in includes the following:

Worked as the counsel on arbitration cases mainly on infrastructure and construction project. Involved in drafting the “Country Risk Assessment Report for Hydropower Project Development in Nepal” for one of the world-renowned Chinese Hydropower Company. Prepared report on “Private Equity Investment in Nepal” on behalf of the World Bank Group. Advised and represented Singapore based company Genesis International for the compulsory liquidation of it’s local subsidiary company registered in Nepal. Worked as the member of the law drafting committee for drafting various corporate law under the supervision of Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies of the Federal Government. Drafted and negotiated Project Development Agreement at the Investment Board of Nepal on behalf of a foreign investment company manufacturing cement in Nepal. Working as the business law expert of World Bank Group for preparation of Doing Business Report, Business-Ready Report since 2019. Advised on market entry and investment structure for various foreign investment companies in Nepal. Advised and represented Kansai Paints and Casio Japan on the trademark infringement disputes. Drafted Power Purchase Agreements and Power Development Agreements on behalf of various domestic hydropower projects in Nepal. Advised multinational companies in connection to foreign investment and branch registration in Nepal. Represented various high value and high profile cases before District Court, High Court and Supreme Court of Nepal Completed the Course of London Summer International Arbitration School,2022 organized by the Arbitration Lab London.

Qualified as fellow of MCIArb of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.

Education

Mr. Bhandari has obtained five years B.A.LL.B  degree from Nepal Law Campus, Tribhuvan University and completed his Masters in International Business Law from University of Brussels, Belgium. He is Advocate license by Nepal Bar Council.
