Associate

Alia Safei joined Afifi in 2022 in the Corporate and Projects team. She has actively participated in various transactions, providing legal advice and conducting research from an Egyptian law perspective.

Alia has advised on aviation transactions, including aircraft leasing, sale and leaseback arrangements, disposals, and cross-border deals, representing leading aircraft lessors and financiers. In addition, she provides strategic guidance on competition law matters, particularly merger control and regulatory compliance, for multinational corporations across industries, helping clients navigate high-value notable transactions while ensuring alignment with Egyptian and international competition standards.

She represents clients before key governmental entities, including the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the General Organization for Export and Import Control, and the Central Bank of Egypt, while also playing a central role in preparing and drafting corporate documents such as EGMs, OGMs, articles of association, share purchase agreements, and share transfer agreements.

Alia provides advisory services on day-to-day business operations in Egypt, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating the execution or termination of a wide range of agreements, with a particular focus on employment law compliance and workforce matters.
