Michalis is a Partner at Economou & Co LLC.

Michalis is an advocate whose practice centres on complex civil and administrative disputes, with particular experience in administrative, employment and succession matters, alongside a broader advisory dimension across commercial and corporate work. He appears before the Cypriot courts and advises on matters that sit at the intersection of litigation risk, regulatory scrutiny and commercial strategy.

His work spans commercial and corporate disputes, administrative and regulatory law, employment and succession. He regularly advises on employment law matters, including post-termination disputes, employee mobility and cross-border workforce issues, as well as questions arising in the context of inheritance and estate structuring.

He acts for institutions, corporates and high-net-worth individuals, including clients operating in financial and payment services, ICT and other regulated sectors.

Alongside his disputes practice, Michalis advises on non-contentious matters where legal analysis and commercial judgment must align. His experience across litigation and advisory mandates allows him to approach issues with a clear view of legal position, execution risk and longer-term strategy.

He also brings a strong academic foundation to his practice. Before entering practice, he taught at the University of Kent and the University of Central Lancashire (Cyprus Campus), covering Land Law, Legal and Political Theory, and Legal Debating. He holds a PhD in Law, an LLM by Research and an LLB from the University of Kent.
