Shazia is a partner in the Dispute Resolution department. She specialises in large-scale product liability litigation and has over 10 years litigation experience. Shazia has particular expertise in acting on behalf of large groups of claimants in complex consumer group actions and was one of the lead partners on the Volkswagen NOx Emissions Group litigation.  Shazia joined Mishcon de Reya in November 2024 from Leigh Day, where she had been a partner since 2021.
Key Experience

• One of the lead lawyers in the Volkswagen NOx Emissions Group Litigation, acting on behalf of over 90,000 vehicle owners following allegations of emissions test cheating in diesel vehicles. The litigation resolved in May 2022 resulting in a payment of £193m being made to the Claimants.
• Leading a second NOx emissions group action against the Volkswagen Group, acting on behalf of c.30,000 vehicle owners.
