Kyra Rivera is a Tax Director at SPINGARN with over 10 years of experience advising domestic and international clients on complex tax and corporate matters. Her key areas of expertise include domestic and international taxation, tax planning, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, wealth structuring, trusts, tax controversy, and cross-border transactions.

Throughout her career, she has advised leading financial institutions, multinational companies, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals on sophisticated cross-border structures and regulatory matters. She has been involved in emblematic tax controversies and high-profile transactions, including tax audits, international trust and holding structures, foreign investment projects, and multi-jurisdictional tax planning involving Ecuador, the United States, Spain, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, and other jurisdictions. She also regularly advises on the interpretation and application of Ecuadorian tax regulations, international tax treaties, and other international reporting frameworks.

Kyra is the author of publications on double tax treaties and Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) rules in Ecuador. She is currently pursuing an LL.M. in International and European Tax Law at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, further strengthening her expertise in international taxation.
