Career

Joël Bouman has been at Davids Advocaten since 2024. He advises companies and businesspeople facing (imminent) bankruptcy, as well as companies in financial difficulty that are looking to restructure. Joël advises and litigates on a variety of corporate law issues and commercial disputes. He also supports trustees in the settlement of bankruptcies. Before joining Davids Advocaten, Joël worked at a medium-sized firm in Amsterdam and gained a year’s experience operating as a trustee.

Joël is a member of the Young Insolvency Lawyers Association (JIRA) and the Young Bar Association.

Education

Joël has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Vrije Universiteit and in Law from the University of Amsterdam. In 2020, he received his master’s degree (cum laude) in Private Law from the University of Amsterdam.

In 2026,  Joël successfully completed the CPO postgraduate specialisation programme in Insolvency Law for Court-Appointed Trustees.
