Ben acts for developers, state-owned entities, government authorities and property investment funds, on a variety of property transactions across all jurisdictions in Australia and internationally.
Ben advises on the developments, acquisitions and disposals of infrastructure projects and renewable energy projects. Ben has also advised on the acquisitions and disposals of premium grade commercial office towers and retail shopping centres and the leasing (acting for landlords and tenants) of premium grade office towers
Ben also regularly advises financiers in respect of the funding of renewable energy projects and other property transactions.
Ben holds accredited specialist status with the Law Society of NSW in property law. Ben is regularly involved in large acquisitions, disposals and property development projects for Australian and international clients.
Ben’s recent Transactions experience includes:
Advising Star of the South in the property aspects in the development of the first off-shore wind farm in Australia including transmission infrastructure and drafting and negotiation of options to easement and construction licences. Advising Octopus Investments in the several developments including the Dulacca wind farm development and assisting with the management of claims, complaints and disputes from landowners and land tenure acquisition for the Hays Plain/Saltbush Wind Farm and Ardandra Solar Farm and BESS. Advising RES in their land tenure acquisitions for the Kerrs Creek Wind Farm. Advising Parramatta City Council in the Parramatta Light Rail and specifically advised on the acquisition of freehold, leasehold and licence interests for the development of the project. Advising Optus in Optus’ mobile networks and telecommunication towers infrastructure land tenure arrangements including negotiations with landowners to secure rights to allow Optus to promptly roll-out its upgrades to the network. Advising Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank, Westpac, ANZ, Metrics and various other financial institutions in the financing of major real estate acquisitions, capital transactions and renewable energy projects. Perdaman in all land related matters associated with the development and operation of a new urea manufacturing facility located at Karratha, Western Australia including the negotiation of corridor sub-leases, port facility licence and lease, pipeline crossing agreements, and an option to lease and lease for the manufacturing site.
